VP, Head of Custodian and Nominees
Main Role:
To manage and lead the custodian and nominees settlements function of the bank.
Reports to Head of settlements
Responsibilities:
- Exercising judgment and discretion in managing the Custodian and Nominees Department activities; staff supervision.
- Checking inward and outward instructions on corporate actions for equities, bonds, funds, structured products (Equity Option, Equity Linked Note and COD, Structured Bonds)
- Communicating with the custodians to resolve complex issues in the corporate announcements
- Interacting with broking houses and custodians to facilitate transfer in/out of securities and structured products
- Coordinating and providing customer services to Relationship Managers and Investment Product Teams.
- Maintenance of security master data in system
- Overview of market price feeds and downloads
- Oversee the reconciliation of securities positions with custodians
- Processing of quarterly custody fees
- Allocating custodian and transaction fees expenses to Relationship Managers.
- Allocating trailer fees rebates from fund houses to Relationship Managers.
- Checking daily prices which variation more than 20% compared with previous day closing.
- Facilitate the implementation of system improvement projects.
- Processing and submitting the annual US tax reporting.
- Facilitate ad hoc assignment given by the Director.
- Relief and cover deputy’s duties when he/she was not in the office
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of managerial experience in managing custodian and nominees settlements function in a private bank.
- Sound knowledge of custodian function
- Good product knowledge in equities, bonds, funds, structured products
- Mature in handling issues and manage Relationship Managers
