Vice President, Financial Control
Main Role:
Lead and manage the finance department in ensuring timely delivery of financial and
regulatory reporting:
- Ensure financial reporting adheres to bank's accounting policies and procedures; compliance with local statutory & MAS regulatory requirements
- Assist to improve and streamline reporting requirements
- Assist in system testing and verification on new product implementation or changes in system processing and accounting of transactions
Reports to Head of Operations and Finance
Responsibilities:
Compliance and control review
- Nostro Balances review
- Daily SGD Funding for Trust accounts
- Daily Financial Statements review
- ACU Limit
- NET CAPITAL Funds
- GL Irregularities review and investigation
Verification/Approval of journal entries
- Ensure expenses are approved by Management, accurately charged and allocated
- Fixed Assets and Depreciation
- Interest on Nostro Balances
- Sundry Deposit, Prepayments, Provisions and Accruals
- Input check and control of all entries processed
Review reconciliations
- Reconciliation of balances in GL and subsidiary systems
- Prepayments, Provisions, Accruals & Fixed Assets
- Expenses, Tax Schedules
- Assets / Liabilities Accounts Reconciliation
- InterCo Confirmation and reconciliation
Reports- checking and review
- Management reporting (P&L, Balance sheet)
- Head Office reporting
- MAS regulatory reporting
- Statutory reporting
Others
- Test Key control verifier; Allocating and recording of expenses and revenue for individual Relationship
- Manager
- Review request for Update Reports parameters and IT request change
- Systems testing and verification on new product implementation
- Providing inputs and value add in reviewing of system processes and accounting of transactions
- Verify Audit Confirmation requests
Requirements:
- University degree in Accounting or Finance
- Recognised professional qualification (CPA or equivalent)
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Solid exposure working in a wholesale bank/merchant bank in Singapore
- At least 2-3 years experience in managing and supervising a team of finance professionals.
- Knowledgeable of accounting and tax regulations in Singapore
