Solution Architect
The SA is responsible for management of all activities involved in the development and maintenance of any aspect of a project’s Solution Architecture. The SA participates in object modelling.
The linkage to technical design through Solution Architecture activities is vital for continuously evolving and maintaining the Enterprise Architecture
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and document the solution and technical architecture of the data warehouse/BI, including the physical components and their functionality.
- Evaluate, select, test and optimize hardware and software products.
- Assess current technical architecture
- Participate in all EDW projects to ensure the solution delivery with full alignments to the guiding principles and policies
- Provide subject matter expertise in the technologies used to deliver EDW
- Ensure BI is inline with the current technology trends and level
- Support capacity planning, disaster recovery, and assist IT Infra in architecture planning and design through
- Estimate system capacity to meat near-and-long term processing requirements
- Write specifications for application servers, database servers
Key Skills:
- Strong conceptual, analytical and communications skills
- Strong technical design skills
- Understanding of the capabilities of vendor infra structure products in particular BI area, including Teradata, SAS, BO, CRM solutions
- Knowledge of data warehousing architectural approaches
- Leadership abilities
Key Deliverables:
- Technical architecture documents
- Hardware and software product recommendations
- Cost estimates for technical components, regular performance and capacity planning audits
