Finance Director - AsiaLead and manage the finance function and be responsible for all accounting, finance, reporting and audit areas of the company’s Asia Business. As the company currently has projects underway in China, Singapore, India, Thailand and Japan in Asia, you should expect that at least 50% of your time will be spent visiting operations/facilities. You will be a business partner to the senior management team.
Responsibilities:
- Hire, train, monitor and supervise local Finance and Accounting Managers and staff (direct reporting line to you)
- Provide leadership in the management of the finance team ensuring that team members are adequately trained and supervised to meet the requirements of the organisation
- Assure The company Accounting Systems compliance across the group
- Perform financial forecast, budget and generate business planning reports as well as any legal affairs
- Help plan and monitor CapEx projects
- Manage group cash in concert with The company UK
- Attend to requests for financial data or information from HQ and other groups
- Maintain strict purchasing and AR/AP discipline across the group
- Assist in supplier negotiations as required
- Assist local managers to understand their costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction
- Assist in development and execution of employee benefits plans (cost wise) in each country
- Assist in on going merger and acquisition work from valuation, due diligence and financial integration standpoints
- Other ad-hoc projects / jobs assign by the MD - Asia
Relationships
- Internal Contacts - Frequent contact with Managing Director – Asia, other Asia HQ team members, country General Managers, local Finance team and all level of employees.
- External Contacts - Frequent contact with public accounting firms, auditors, The company customers and vendors, government authorities and banks.
Requirements:
- Working knowledge of IFRS and multi-national tax strategies.
- Bachelor in Accountancy or equivalent with minimum 10 years of relevant experience
- Preferably with post graduate qualification in Financial Management and a CPA member
- Experience in manufacturing environment and has managed and actively involved in acquisition and integration activities
- Integrity, analytical, logical, a strong sense of responsibility, with good interpersonal and organisation skills
- Ability to work under fast pace environment with initiative and independence
- Independent, proactive, meticulous, able to follow through tasks to ensure completion in a timely manner
- Positive with a ‘can-do’ attitude and possess high level of energy
- Good communication skills and proficient in both written and spoken English and Chinese
- Able to travel frequently within the Asia region and to the UK.
