Financial Controller
This position is an integral member of the management team and will be responsible for finance, accounting, tax and legal matters for the Headquarters in Singapore and the regional offices, ensuring an accurate and timely financial management, reporting, forecasting and budgeting of all business units. He/She will support growth by developing a strong financial control environment and providing quality financial information for decision making. He/She will champion a business focused approach within the finance team and provide leadership in the finance and accounting area by implementing best practices.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee full finance scope including payment & billings approval
- Manage financial reporting for both management & statutory purposes
- Provide financial analytical support to senior management in alignment to the company’s operations strategy
- Ensure that the financial reports are prepared in accordance with local accounting and tax regulatory requirements
- Ensure that the management reports are prepared in accordance with the company’s requirements
- Continuous review of financial systems and procedures, monitoring and evaluating their effectiveness and maintaining an ongoing liaison with the CEO and the Board of Directors on matters of strategy and policy
- Perform duty of Company secretarial
- Responsible for board reporting
- Lead the management to develop all financial aspects of the business including pricing of our education programmes to ensure costs are managed and profit is optimised
- Provide information to support decision making and Key Performance Indicators to ensure a profitable growing business
- Develop and deliver accurate budget and forecast processes to support growing and achieving sales, profitability and managing cashflow and influence sales commission
- Understand in depth the company’s operation so that appropriate internal controls can be designed and instituted, including conducting regular reviews to ensure their continued effectiveness
- Be a central part of the decision making process and with the other members of the management team drive for improvement and decisive implementation of new initiatives
- Lead and manage the changes required and risks arising in a rapidly growing business
- Design, implement, administer and control the budgeting process
- Implement and administer efficient cash flow management and monitoring system
- Develop high performance finance team in the region
- Establish banking relationships
- Responsible for property leases, facilities, insurance
- Oversee legal matters, registration of overseas offices, contract negotiation and sign contracts
Requirements:
- Candidate must possess at least an MBA and CPA holder
- At least 15 years relevant experience
- 5 years’ management experience preferably in an MNC
- Familiar with accounting standards in India, China, UAE and Malaysia
- Excellent presentation and communication skills
- Ability to work and influence people at all levels in an organization
- Positive attitude, self-motivated personality
- Proven analytic and flexible approach to problem solving
- Proven leadership and interpersonal skills with ability to lead and manage people
- Experience in Peoplesoft or other ERP environment is preferred
