Economist for Group Treasury - Treasury Advisory

Responsibilities:

• Provide high quality written research on the North Asia, covering macroeconomic research, central bank monitoring and foreign exchange analysis
• Cover Mandarin seminars in Malaysia, Hong Kong, Taiwan and China
• Provide analytical support to internal and external clients
• Provide customer-oriented presentations and commentaries   
• Contribute to market forecasts, trading strategies, and product ideas
• Work closely with Treasury Advisory colleagues on customer-related requests for forecasts
• Other research-related duties

Reporting to:

• Head, Treasury Research & Strategy

Requirements:

• Strong economics background; experience with treasury/FX markets a definite advantage
• Must be effectively bilingual and able to do translation for Mandarin versions of economic publications
• Highly motivated team player with exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Comfortable with public speaking and presentations to a large audience
• Computer literacy, econometric modelling is an added advantage
• Results-oriented and independent player; able to deal with pressure
• Willingness to learn with positive attitude
