Business Risk Manager

Looking for a Business Risk Manager to support the Business Risk Management function within Private Banking, SEA.  Business Risk Management ensures that Operational Risk Management is implemented within the APAC and SEA region in an efficient and appropriate manner, fully compliant with internal and external regulations. It provides Management within the region with the relevant support, guidance and tools to manage operational risks efficiently

Responsibilities:

1.      Management Controls

• Prepare and review management controls relating to the Head PB SEA
• Report significant deviations, identify potential risks and propose preventive / corrective measures

2.      Overall Business Risk Management

• Assist  in organizing, preparing and conducting the monthly Risk Management Committee for SEA
• Provide input for the APAC Risk Management Committee Meeting
• Review, control and monitor cross-border travel activities
• Lead or contribute to specific taskforces or initiatives as assigned by Management
• Review business practices and processes across departments and propose improvement actions from a risk management perspective
• Ensure that policies are known to management and provide regular reports and reviews on certain topics
• Review new policies from a BRM perspective
• Support Operational Risk Self Assessments (ORSA) workshops, analyze the results, propose corrective measures
• Support SOX process for PB Front Office
• Review and support Rep Offices and onshore locations in line with Rep Office Framework and Onshore Framework
• Coordinate front office controls around Sensitive countries, Risk countries, Client Confidentiality, etc

3.      Operational Loss and Incident reporting
·       Monitor and analyze operational losses and provisions, propose mitigating actions and preventive measures
·       Prepare a monthly reporting on operational losses and provisions

• Report and analyze significant losses, identify potential related risks and propose preventive / corrective measures
• Organise, prepare and conduct the monthly Incident Meeting for APAC
• Conduct Incident Investigations for major losses or incident cases

4.      Coordinate audits / inspections for Front Office

• Prepare upcoming audits / inspections: review controls and documentation, etc
• Act as lead for Front Office, prepare and support staff, etc.
• Act as lead for Senior Management and coordinator for the audit responses on their recommendations, join meetings, etc.
• Analyze Audit / Inspection reports and identify preventive / corrective actions to be taken
• Monitor, control and verify the implementation of audit recommendations

5.      Management functions

• Assist and support Head BRM SEA in building up the team
• Delegate of Head BRM SEA

 

Requirements:

• Degree from a recognised university, preferably with a specialisation in Business or Banking
• At least 5 years of working experience, of which 3-4 from banking environment is preferred
• Possess a high level of initiative, passion and demonstrated leadership capabilities
• Good written and oral communication skills and able to interact with people of various levels
